As part of the rescheduling of Sunday’s programs, FineJazz can now be heard every day at noon and 7pm. If you are a jazz listener, no need to remember which day it is. Just turn on your radio or live stream.
Sunday 2nd July is when it starts with two new FineJazz programs.
Classic Jazz with Dave Mac continues at noon. This week, Dave is fulfilling a promise to his 95-year-old neighbour, and focusing on the great jazz crooners, a program that includes Tommy Dorsey and Frank Sinatra.
Jazz Interactions is new at 7pm, a program that will start life with new jazz releases, and progressively move to being interactive across social media. We will be establishing our own FineJazz social platform, and Sundays will be time to chat live with our Jazz Interaction presenters. This week, Maddy Monjo will be bringing new releases from Steve Barry with In The Waves, from the Alistair Johnston Quartet self-titled debut album, and from the Greasy Chicken Orchestra.
Jazz After Hours – Portraits from11pm is Jazz After Hours trimmed to one hour. Same great presenters. Same great curation. And with a single focus: a single musician; a single instrument; a single year. This week, Eddie Bernasconi will provide a portrait of American jazz guitarist, keyboardist, composer, bandleader, producer, educator and record label owner, Kurt Rosenwinkel.
