Paul Derricott is a Sydney-based drummer, composer and producer dedicated to exploring and creating improvised thematic music. Whilst originally establishing himself as a jazz drummer he has expanded his musicality and experience through other styles of popular music in both performance and recording. His skills were honed studying at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music from which he graduated in 2005 with a Bachelor of Music in Jazz Performance.
This Friday on A Jazz Hour at 12pm, Barry O’Sullivan will spin tracks from his latest recording with his band, COAST, titled Ember, which is high in energy, sparking in a variety of timbres and packed with musical bravura.
