TUESDAY LUNCHTIME RECITAL SERIES: Songs of Purcell, Gluck and Mozart with Helen Sherman and David Russell, from St Paul’s Church, in St Paul’s Church, 205 Burwood Rd, Burwood at 1:15pm on 19th September.
The ambiance and acoustics of the historic Edmund Blacket Church is the ideal venue for our monthly Lunchtime Recitals. On Tuesday 19th September, Mezzo Soprano Helen Sherman will be accompanied by pianist David Russell in a recital including songs by Purcell, Gluck and Mozart. Doors open at 1.00pm for 1.15pm fifty minute recital.
Entry is by donation.
St Paul’s is a short walk from Burwood station. Bus routes 464 and 418 have stops adjacent to the Church. Parking is available either on Burwood Road or in side streets.
Australian mezzo soprano, Helen Sherman is a performer renowned for her versatility and dramatic intensity. .
David Russell completed a Bachelor of Music Performance (Voice) at the University of Sydney Conservatorium of Music and was a recipient of the Horace Keats Memorial Scholarship for Singing. He subsequently completed a Master of Music Studies (Conducting), also at the Sydney Conservatorium, where he was the recipient of the Eugene Goosens Fellowship.He sang with the Choir of Christ Church St Laurence, Sydney, for 20 years and as Assistant Conductor conducted numerous works with choir, organ and orchestra.

HYMNFEST in St Alban’s Church, 3 Pembroke St, Epping at 2:00pm on 24th September.
“Ten well-known hymns played by ten organists”. This ecumenical event welcomes everyone who loves to sing hymns, regardless of creed or denomination. Come help us lift the roof of the church with song. Free admission. All welcome!
