Tony Barnard has appeared at all of Australia’s major jazz festivals, has accompanied visiting jazz and show-biz stars from overseas, won ‘best guitarist’ polls, formed  Australia’s first 5 guitar big band ‘Interplay’, and has worked as musical director on cruise ships. 

Tony has a diverse range of albums to his name (36 and counting) ranging from jazz to blues and classical, and has played with a wide range of artists including The Australian Chamber Orchestra, The BBC Concert Orchestra, and The Ronnie Scott’s Jazz Orchestra at the famous club in London where he held the guitar chair for many years.

He has just released a new recording featuring his original compositions played on piano by his long time friend and musical associate Kevin Hunt, entitled “Kevin Hunt Plays Tony Barnard”, that was recorded in the studios of 2MBS Fine Music Sydney.


Tony Barnard is Barry O’Sullivan’s special studio guest on A Jazz Hour this Friday at midday where he will spin some tracks from that recording plus some of his musical influences recordings.
