
Join the Choir of Christ Church St Laurence for their annual Orchestral Mass on Sunday, 14 September at 5pm. This year’s performance features Mozart’s majestic Missa solemnis, conducted by Music Director Sam Allchurch. The choir will be joined by a distinguished ensemble of soloists and acclaimed organist David Tagg, bringing this sublime liturgical work to life in the beautiful setting of Christ Church St Laurence.
Admission is free, and no booking is required, all are warmly welcome to attend this special musical and spiritual occasion.
The Choir of Christ Church St Laurence is one of the oldest continuing choral groups in Australia and was founded shortly after the consecration of the Church in 1845. It performs an extensive repertoire incorporating music from Gregorian chant through to compositions from 21st century composers.
The Choir sings every Sunday morning at Solemn High Mass and again at Solemn Evensong, which uses the 1662 Book of Common Prayer.
