Fine Music Showcase is an opportunity for musicians to shine and for audiences to get to know the musicians and their music. The next chapter in this remarkable series features classical guitar, a bass-playing jazz songstress, jazz harp-guitar, and a young classic jazz singer.
Brett Gomez has been hailed as “one of the most exciting and interesting guitarists of his generation.” Known for his deep musical insight and expressive interpretations, Brett brings a rare combination of technical brilliance and artistic depth.
Lauren White was the 2024 2MBS Weatherley Jazz Scholar and returns to our studios with a flight of new tunes, composed within her scholarship.
Originally trained as a classical guitarist, Tony Barnard brings to the studio a career of fine jazz, a deep understanding of jazz improvisation, and an acute understanding of the complexities of the 21-sting harp guitar and its magic.
And for classic jazz songs, you cannot go past the aura of Frank Sinatra, Perry Como, Dean Martin and Tony Bennett. But render them with a new young voice that has a deep resonance that will amaze, you will welcome Charlie Chech, winner of the ACE Best Male Entertainer.
Brought to you by Kawai Pianos, and hosted by our Emergent Jazz presenter, Keith Pettigrew, you won’t want to miss Fine Music Showcase on Sunday August 10th from 3:00pm, live on 2MBS 102.5FM, DAB+ and streaming live from our website 2MBSFineMusicSydney.com or our free 2MBS app.
