Celebration of Aussie Jazz
2MBS jazz presenters will contribute to International Jazz Day on Thursday 30 April with a celebration of Aussie Jazz by playing their favourite Australian jazz music or artists in a special five-hour program, which will be streamed on demand via our website and the 2MBS app.

As in previous years, 2MBS is partnering with the Lane Cove Music Alliance for a full-day free live music event on Saturday 2 May 2026 from 10am at The Canopy, Lane Cove. In addition to the main Canopy stage, performances will take place in two additional locations: Lane Cove Plaza and Birdwood Lane, adjacent to The Canopy.
There will be a vibrant program featuring Stringybark Jazz, 2MBS FM, Neville Kaye, The Bug Hunters, Julia Shved Project, Hot Club Gypsy Swing and Tamis Hunter. At The Plaza, catch Penny Cook, Sydney Gypsies and Thomas Haworth, plus Burns Bay Big Band at LMZ.
From swing and blues to gypsy jazz, it’s a rich showcase of talent. Special thanks to 2MBS jazz presenters, who will be MCing throughout the day, guiding audiences through this exciting celebration of live jazz.
