On Tuesday 26 May at 2pm, don’t miss Classical Miles presented by Jeannie McInnes, exploring the fascinating classical crossover side of Miles’ music and influence. From the haunting beauty of Concierto de Aranjuez and the lush textures of Porgy and Bess to the atmospheric colours of Aura, this playlist reveals Miles’ deep connection with orchestral sound. Featuring arrangements by Gil Evans and interpretations by Turtle Island Quartet, discover another side of a true musical innovator.
Then, on Tuesday 26 May at 7pm, tune in for a special edition of The Jazz Beat with Lloyd Capps featuring miles and miles of Miles Davis, from cool jazz to fusion, iconic recordings, rare cuts, and stories behind one of music’s greatest innovators. From early collaborations with Charlie Parker and the revolutionary sound of Birth of the Cool to the timeless Kind of Blue and the hypnotic grooves of Bitches Brew, this selection captures the restless creativity and unmistakable sound of one of jazz’s greatest innovators.
