
The music of George Gershwin will be brought to life by Nexas Quartet and Vatche Jambazian this month at the Church, a meticulously restored 19th-century Gothic church in Alexandria. As one of the most impactful composers of the 20th century, George Gershwin’s music has permeated all aspects of society and culture around the globe. Nexas Quartet has always held Gershwin in the highest regard due to his significant influence on their repertoire and style with his ‘Three Preludes’ being one of the first works the ensemble performed over 20 years ago.
Gershwin’s innovative approach to blending classical and jazz elements aligns perfectly with the quartet’s mission of exploring and redefining the boundaries of saxophone music. Joined by Vatche Jambazian on the piano Nexas bring to life the music of George Gershwin.
Be captivated by their dynamic performance and innovative interpretation of Gershwin favourites such as Rhapsody in Blue, American in Paris, Three Preludes, Summertime and more.
