Koen van Stade (tenor) and Neal Peres Da Costa (piano) reimagine Schumann’s Dichterliebe in this recording after several years of research into the world of the German Romantic lied.

Both performers have aimed to create an interpretation of this song cycle which comes somewhere close to what might have been expected and heard in the decades immediately following its composition in 1840, using historically-informed practices in singing and piano playing.
