These concerts with pianist Kathryn Selby highlight an extraordinary work by eight Australians, the Fire Dances Suite, a composition funded by a Fresh Start Grant of the ABC.
Diverse dance movements journey through the trajectory of a bushfire – distant haze, engulfing flames, and finally nature’s regrowth. Also on the program: gorgeous Schumann music, and, ending on utterly Romantic note, Mendelssohn’s final piano trio.
