The Annual Glebe Music Festival is now in its 35th year, with seven extraordinary concerts from Friday 8th of November to Sunday 24th of November.
A perfect opportunity to hear the music of American singer-songwriter Gene Clark‘s No Other album. No Other was released in September 1974, it was largely ignored or lambasted by critics and was a commercial failure; the studio time and cost were seen as excessive and indulgent. The Byrds frontman’s deliriously opulent solo work was misunderstood upon release, but thanks to the Glebe Festival, attendees will have the opportunity to hear a spiritual singer-songwriter classic.
The Glebe Festival will also feature Kjell Goyer and Stolen Moments Jazz Ensemble, the Sydney Guitar Collective with Janet and Raffaele Agostino, Persian music for guitar and violin, baroque music with Austral Harmony, the Acacia Quartet, and the fabulous Josie Ryan with the Emeralds violas da gamba.
From baroque music to Spanish classical music to jazz and more contemporary music, there will be performances for everyone at Glebe’s Town Hall and at the popular Gleebooks bookstore.
