The Metropolitan Orchestra’s 18th concert season ignites with a blaze of energy and colour in this performance at the Verbrugghen Hall with a world premiere work by Australian composer Chris Moran titled Equilibrium. This striking new work explores contrast and balance: groove and grandeur, simplicity and sophistication, excitement and control to set the environment for this brilliant first concert of 2026. Hungarian folk rhythms will burst to life in Kodály’s Dances of Galánta, before Beethoven’s radiant Symphony No. 4 crowns the evening with classical brilliance and joyful drive. This first performance of TMO’s tri-concert Met Season for 2026 is not to be missed.

Program:

Chris Moran – Equilibrium *World Premiere
Zoltán Kodály – Dances of Galánta
