Nadya’s SoulSka in Stilettos is a gloriously eclectic yet irresistibly cohesive band led by the unstoppable Nadya Golski, Australia’s Queen of Gypsy Soul.
A contralto of rare power and range, Nadya sings with conviction and spontaneity, slipping effortlessly between languages and styles. Inspired by Jamaica’s Trojan Records, sweet soul classics are reimagined with ska and reggae grooves, touched by the sounds of the South Pacific.
Joined by nine of Sydney’s finest musicians, the band reinvents songs by Sam Cooke, Aretha Franklin, Dolly Parton, Bob Marley, Leonard Cohen, and more. Expect fat horns, lush harmonies, joyful surprises, singalongs, dancing, and pure feel-good energy.
