Operantics presents a witty operatic double bill featuring Mozart’s The Impresario and Salieri’s Prima la musica e poi le parole. These two rarely paired comic works offer a playful glimpse behind the curtain of the opera world, where rival singers, ambitious composers and theatrical egos collide. Performed in English with a chamber ensemble, this fast-paced production celebrates the humour, drama and brilliance of opera in an intimate setting.
Originally commissioned and presented in direct competition with one another, these works are often linked through Mozart and Salieri’s supposed rivalry. In this double bill, Operantics leans into the humour, theatricality, and joy of live opera making.
