18th-century Bohemian composers were a fabulous force to be reckoned with. Not quite household names today, they were a great influence on many composers who are.

Hear the Australian Haydn Ensemble perform string quartets by these ‘Divine Bohemians’ at The Neilson on Sunday 2 August at 4pm, in a delicious and dramatic program of string quartets by Haydn, Wranitzky, Mysliveček and Beethoven. AHE has established itself as one of Australia’s leading period-instrument groups, specialising in the repertoire of the late Baroque and early Classical eras. It takes its name from the great Joseph Haydn, a leading composer of the late 18th-century.
