Since Australian conductor Carolyn Watson moved to the US in 2013, her career has flourished as she has enjoyed opportunities with professional opera
and ballet companies and symphony orchestras from coast to coast. She shares some of her thoughts on what goes into putting together an orchestral program.

Australian composer Lachlan Skipworth has been hailed by The Australian as possessing a ‘rare gift as
a melodist’ and by Limelight as expressing ‘both exquisite delicacy and tremendous power’. His newest album, Altiora Peto, explores the expansive, with two concertos, a bass recorder rumination and the overwhelming force of a choral mass.

Barry O’Sullivan talks to one of Australia’s most respected creative musicians, the prolific drummer/ composer/producer Laurence Pike. Along with his solo releases for the UK’s Leaf Label, Pike is a member of Warp Records alumni PVT, electronic jazz trio Triosk, the UK’s Szun Waves, and the legendary US/ Australian avant-punk group LIARS.

The Choir of Christ Church St Laurence, led by Music Director Sam Allchurch, presents their Advent Carol Service. This annual special service, featuring music by Judith Weir, Edward Bairstow, William Byrd, Francisco Guerrero, Thomas Weelkes, and more.

Mosaic is a 10-piece Sydney big band that displays harmony and unison, whilst creating the energy and focus of a quartet. Where We Are Now is their debut release. They are all still on campus, crafting the future of jazz. Compositions come from the musicians, or from invited young composers. Even the artwork is by a young artist, Lee Francis-Evatt
