The competition is open to students in Years 5–12 who are aged 18 or under at the date of entry and performing at AMEB Grade 6 level or higher.

2MBS Fine Music Sydney is thrilled to announce its 2026 Artists in Residence and Scholars, a dynamic cohort of exceptional artists selected for their outstanding creativity, artistic excellence and commitment to advancing Australia’s musical landscape.

For more than five years Emergent Jazz has broadcast Sydney’s emerging jazz musicians and their innovative work on Saturday evenings. Since the goal of 2MBS is to promote Australian musicians, particularly the young, many of them still on the jazz campuses of The Con or UNSW their jazz is our music.

Jazz songstress Tiana Young has released her fourth single, Spellbound, off her imminent debut album, Serendipity. 

The National Young Virtuoso Award is a prestigious recognition given to talented classical instrumentalists under the age of 25 years and classical singers under the age of 30 who demonstrate outstanding skills and artistry in their performance.
