The National Young Virtuoso Award is a prestigious recognition given to talented classical instrumentalists under the age of 25 years and classical singers under the age of 30 who demonstrate outstanding skills and artistry in their performance.

The National MBS competition which is held annually shows off the entrants from all the MBS stations in Australia:
2MBS Sydney, 3MBS Melbourne, 4MBS Brisbane, 5MBS Adelaide and ArtSound Canberra. This year's winner is cellist Noah Oshiro.

Noah Oshiro is the 2024 Young Virtuoso Award (YVA) winner. At just 23 years old, cellist Noah Oshiro captivates audiences with a remarkable maturity in his musical performance. Having started his cello journey at the age of three, Noah is now in his final year of Bachelor of Music in Performance at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music.

For over thirty-five years, the 2MBS Young Virtuoso Award has celebrated emerging classical talents, offering invaluable career opportunities and substantial prizes.

Competitors vie for a $3,000 cash prize, with additional awards of $1,000 and $500.
