Maximilian Alduca is a double bassist who has made a significant impact on the Sydney jazz and experimental music scene. He has collaborated with some of Australia's top jazz musicians, including Mike Nock, Paul Grabowsky and Dale Barlow.

Samuel Coleridge-Taylor was born on 15 August 1875 in London, the son of an English woman and a Sierra Leonean man. His father, a medical student, returned to Sierra Leone upon graduating, unaware that he had fathered a child.
